This chapel is located to the north of the city, to the west of the St Jean col. It was named Saint Lagier by the cadastre in 1819.
Raymond Collier qualifies his architecture of “rustic romanesque” from the 13th century. It is composed of “a unique bay nave, barrel vaulted without reinforced arch and with a flat radiating chapel. It was fortunately restored in 1968-1969. A custom book from 1835 indicates that on Sundays preceding Saint John’s Eve, people go to Saint Léger in procession. Named Saint-Lagier by the cadastre in 1819.
The abbot Féraud said : “among the four rural chapels that we find on this parish territory, Saint Léger is distinguished by its antiquity. It goes back to the first centuries of the church. Seven nearby towns used to come bury their dead”.
