Eglise Paroissiale Saint Michel

Eglise Paroissiale Saint Michel

Located in the district of Serre-Nauzet, now the village of Montclar. The church of Saint Michel is a fascinating introduction to the history of the Col St Jean and Montclar.

Built an isolated place in the middle of the woods in 1645, this parish was named St Michel after another church dating back to 1351, abandoned higher on the hill.
It became the centre of the parish. However, the hamlet of Serre-Nauzet only became populated during the 19th century.
Saint Michel church is an introduction to the fascinating history of the col and Montclar.
