Former site of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, the Mont-Chiran Observatory, located at 1 905 m, welcomes hikers and those curious about the sky for an unforgettable night under the stars of the Verdon!
You will find on the spot, in addition to exceptional views on the stars, an orientation table.
A breathtaking panorama awaits you: Ecrins, Mercantour, Provence, Mediterranean and even the Pyrenees! Meal and night at the refuge (16 places) where you will become aware that water and energy saving are essential…
In the evening, an astronomer will show you the sky through a telescope under the dome of the Observatory. It is advised to bring very warm clothes, because at this altitude the climate is mountainous!
After the night at the refuge, you can have your breakfast with a panoramic view …
