The largest of the Verdon lakes (2200 ha): a place to relax, to sail and more!
Located between the Verdon Gorges and the Valensole Plateau’s lavender fields, Sainte Croix du Verdon beach invites you for a swim or for sports activities.
The Sainte Croix Lake was created in 1973 by the French electricity supplier. From its heights, the village was spared.
Nowadays, the lake is used as a water reserve and produces electricity for the surroundings. It is mainly known as a leisure and vacation spot. Gas engines are forbidden on the lake, which guaranties the respect for the environment and the tranquility.
Sainte Croix du Verdon offers an equipped beach, with life guards in the summer. To enjoy the lake, you can also rent electric boats, pedal boats, canoes… The sailing school teaches sailing, rowing, paddle and more.
