The Fort de Savoie is a superb 17th-century military structure. In the rooms once used by the garrison soldiers, you’ll discover the permanent exhibition “Histoire(s) d’un fort”, as well as the immersive exhibition “Le récit de Vauban”.
Follow the exhibition mascot Claude Du Puy, a soldier in the time of Louis XIV, as he explores the fort and its history. Educational panels cover a range of themes, including the different stages in the fort’s construction, to whet your curiosity.
The tour ends with a spectacular immersive exhibition entitled “Le récit de Vauban” (Vauban’s story), offering a unique experience that will take you right to the heart of history!
A real plunge into the past, this multimedia show takes visitors back in time and space to discover the key moments in the history of Colmars-les-Alpes and its fortifications. The garrison room becomes a wide-angle projection surface, featuring landscapes, scenes of life and the construction of forts…5 laser projectors, 5.1 sound system, Sébastien Le Prestre,
marquis de Vauban, who comes to life and addresses the audience…A breathtaking 20-minute show that provides the keys to
the keys to understanding the fortified city and facilitating its discovery. “A high-level overall experience: historical, poetic,
festive, meaningful and bonding…”.
The fort periodically hosts festive and cultural events: concerts, shows, theater evenings, conferences, a medieval festival and an escape game!
