Les Gorges de Trévans

Les Gorges de Trévans

A preserved and relaxing place to discover on foot.

Accessible from the village of Estoublon, 30 km South of Digne les Bains, the Trévans Gorges offer different hiking paths to nature lovers. In the summer, the fresh River also calls for a swim.

The “Estoublaïsse” torrent dug, in Jurrassic limestones, a 200 meters high narrow canyon, in surroundings with a remarkable biodiversity.
In the Trévans Gorges, over 40 species of birds and bats can be found, as well as chamois.

Flora is also varied, thanks to the geographical situation, between the Mediterranean and the Alpine climates. That is the reason why the Trévans gorges are a classified biologic reserve.

The name of these gorges comes from the old village of Trévans, which was linked to Estoublon in 1973. Numerous remains can be seen from hiking paths: the Valbonnette hamlet, the medieval religious building of Saint André du Désert…
