GRAVEL Bikepacking Trip in the Verdon

Gravel Provence-Verdon stay, 155 km for 2400m of D+. Two days to discover the irresistible landscapes of Haute-Provence and Verdon. Bikepacking to take what you need for the night. Valid on the dates of your choice, from 2 to 12 people.

Day 1: Château-Arnoux > Moustiers-Sainte-Marie: 73km / 1300m D+ /1100m D-
Day 2: Moustiers-Sainte-Marie > Château-Arnoux: 83km – 1100m D+ – 1500m D-

Departing from the Val de Durance tourist office in Château-Arnoux, the route begins with the Tour du Lac trail which runs along the Durance and passes at the foot of the Pénitents des Mées, the famous pointed rocks which rise majestically above the village. Then an ascent begins to the famous Valensole plateau, renowned for its countless lavender fields, flowering in June and July. The next day you will head towards the Montdenier massif, which offers a remarkable view of the Sainte-Croix du Verdon lake, with its emerald-coloured waters. A long track will take you to the Col de Saint-Jurs via the sublime Trévans gorges. Then you will return to the Val de Durance at the starting point of the stay to end the day at the tourist office in Château-Arnoux. Bike washing and showers are provided during opening hours.

To plan: stops at restaurants or bakeries for both lunch breaks.
